Stephanie & Jason | Whimsical Guild Inn Estate Wedding

It was a long time planning for our sweet Stephanie' and Jason’s special day. Like many couples for the last 18 months planning their dream wedding, there were a lot of uncertainties due to COVID. BUT they did it and everything was so perfect and beautiful! Our stunning bride was talented herself that she calligraphed all the stationaries and coat hangers. Stephanie has a big heart for people, especially her loved ones. She has taken the time out of her busy schedule of work, starting a business and wedding planning to hand make her bridesmaids gifts as well. Her work is so cute, elegant, romantic, fun and everything in between. If you don’t know already, you gotta check out her shop at Fish Designs Co.

The modern dating app really pulled these two together as they grew up from different cities. In fact, Stephanie moved from Vancouver to United States to Waterloo to Australia to Hong Kong and finally settling in Toronto (for now?). When we first met them, we thought they’ve known each other since childhood as there were so much things in common that they’ve shared and really enjoyed doing together: Pokemon Go and food adventures. For their engagement session, they even brought bubble tea as prop! Ummm, did i mentioned they even got an egg waffle station from Eggette Hut for their reception for their guests to enjoy?!!! They not only are foodies and knows how to have fun but really cares for those around them and are always providing for them. They are what I like to call a β€œPower Couple”!

Thank you Stephanie and Jason for having us be a part of your engagement journey and documenting your special day with loved ones. We wish you two a lifetime-full of adventures and blessings!

Jenny & Tim | Joyful Shangri-La Banquet Wedding

Jenny and Tim’s love story was a very special one - to me, it almost seemed like God orchestrated it all brought the two together at the perfect timing just before their wedding day! They both attended the same high school and church for quite some time before they officially met at the end of 2018. It was at their church event where Tim was a part of a group entered into contest to fundraise for a food bank. He asked for Jenny’s vote towards his group submission and from there the two started chatting online. A few months into 2019, they became official girlfriend and boyfriend! They just got married in September 2021 - doesn’t seem like they dated that long but when you talk to them it sounded like they’ve known each other since they were kids! Love stories like these gives me all the butterflies to see two coming together as one in the most perfect way.

With such a unique story of how these two could have met so much sooner at both their high school and church before 2018, for their wedding portraits we walked down the memory lane with them. Yes, we went to their high school - can you spot it on here? ;)

The day was all smiles for our sweet Jenny. It’s no wonder that Joy from Inside Out reminded Tim of Jenny. He even gifted her Joy the plush toy and card for their wedding gift! It was so funny to see Jenny laugh inside the gift bag before any one of us knew what she was giggling about. Their chemistry is such a playful, sweet and supportive one! They even bring so much joy to those around them. During the reception, they did a little something different for your traditional first dance - the bride dipped the groom instead! Tim is about a head and half taller than Jenny and for her to dip him at the end of their first dance got the crowds cheering!

Oh, what a happy day! It was so much fun to capture the festivities that took place on this blessed day! Thank you Jenny & Tim for having us be a part of your big day and congratulations once again!

Christy & Daniel & Ellia | Markham Unionville Family Session

Markham Unionville Family Photos - 8.jpg

Big sister alert - Ellia's going to be a big sister! And her excitement cannot be contained!

We had so much fun meeting and photographing Christy, Daniel and Ellia down Markham Unionville. Ellia had so much running around the park and saying hi to each doggy that passed by and was not shy! At times, mom and dad would even have to go chase after her. This makes a really fun family photo for them! (Secretly, I think she thought mom and dad was just playing with her but really they were trying to keep her safe haha oh little Ellia!) When we asked about the baby, she quickly pointed at mommy’s belly! Wow, this girl really knows where her younger sibling is!

With the help of Ellia’s Auntie Sandy being presence with us looking after the little runner, we had some time to do a few quick maternity portraits with just mom and dad. But of course, Ellia wanted to be included as well and ran circles around mom and dad! She’s so sweet!

We headed over to an ice cream shop on Main Street Unionville and treated little Ellia to ice cream for the FIRST TIME! Of course she loved it! Not too much into sharing but finally learned to share her treat with mom and dad and fed them one at a time. Already she’s going to know how to take care of her younger sibling and even share her items with them! We can’t wait to see their interactions in the near future!

Thank you Christy, Daniel and Ellia for such a wonderful time together and having us document your beautiful family moments!

Samantha & Kelvin | Richmond Hill Observatory Wedding

Samantha and Kelvin first met at their church’s youth fellowship back in 2009. They knew little of each other at that time and it wasn’t until 2014 when they got a chance to work on an event together for their fellowship that they started conversing more. Their dialogues continued via text messages while Kelvin was away for school in Waterloo and Samantha stayed in Toronto. And a beginning of this beautiful relationship started…

Love is in the air for them on Valentine’s Day where 2015 Kelvin gifted Samantha a handmade Eiffel Tower that she longed to visit one day! And on the same day in 2020, Kelvin got down on one knee and asked the most important question of his life to his now wife! The rest was just history!

Like many other couples getting married during a pandemic, plans have changed, and it wasn’t easy for them as Kelvin’s parents were abroad and was unable to attend. By careful considerations and lots of prayers, the two decided to postpone their reception celebration until a safer time (hopefully next year). With them being the sweetest couple, a lot of people attended the ceremony on live and in-person (limited capacity, of course) to show support for their union! They even prepared sweets and favours for their guests to take away at the end of the ceremony.

We still had a very eventful day even without the reception and it was a lot of fun! Kelvin and the boys came over for some Door Games and challenges that the bridesmaids came up with was so creative and fun! Samantha in her hide-out room couldn’t resist but laugh out loud while watching the groom and groomsmen being challenged!

When we photographed their engagement session, it was cold, windy, and even snowed early in the day - in May! Their love can really withstand the toughest weather no matter rain or shine! During portraits session, the rain came down after 15 minutes of arrival time. Fortunately, we still got some good portraits of the bridal party and bride and groom! And they were not soaked or wet thanks to the little cover that the observatory has as a hide-out spot! It was still fun as we would wait out for the rain and head back into our hiding spot when it rained more. Love can really conquer all things, even the toughest weather!

Thank you Samantha and Kelvin for having us be a part of and documenting your special day! Congratulations once again!

Paola & Davor & Sophia | Toronto Trillium Park Family Photos

Paola's Downtown Toronto Family Photos - 2.jpg

What a beautiful family to photograph!!! Seriously though, I’m like over the moon when I was hanging out with them!

Paola reached out to me earlier this year for a family session when lockdown gets lifted. As soon as we were in Stage 1, we were in communication to plan for their perfect family portraits! We’ve considered lavender fields, sunflower fields, neighbourhood park and we ended up at the Trillium Park with a great blend of the city skyline and greenery space. With COVID19 preventing many people from visiting friends and families across borders, Paola wanted a photo of her family and the city skyline to send as postcards to their families and friends around the world and we did just that! (But don’t let these photos fool you, Trillium Park is a very busy spot and it was never empty like what’s in the photos. Lol)

Sophia was shy at first but quickly warmed up with some of her favourite Disney songs! She started dancing, jumping and exploring the whole park. She loved her liberty to run around and less of smiling at my camera (I don’t blame her, I would too explore this new environment) but we’ve managed to play a game and have her smiling for me. I loved their family interaction; mom and dad would sing along with her and doing the actions. They definitely were a playful family and enjoyed every bit of their time together. Any day, I would document these candid moments again.

Thank you Paola, Davor and Sophia for a great evening that I got to spend with you and capture your family love!

Manley & Lorie | A Magical Fairytale Wedding at Paradise Banquet Hall

Manley & Lorie Paradise Banquet Hall Wedding - 49.jpg

At our first meeting with Manley & Lorie, we’ve quickly learned that Manley loved all things magical, whimsical and fairytale-like. For their proposal, they went to Disneyworld Florida for a friend’s 30th birthday. In front of the Magic Castle, Lorie got down on one knee and surprised Manley with the most important question of her life! At first she thought he was joking - β€œI thought he was joking so I pushed his shoulder telling him to stop. I started walking away but my friends yelled at me to go back. Still confused, I went back and let him hold my hand again. People had started cheering and I couldn't hear Lorie anymore.”

For their wedding, it was to no surprise that it was an inspired whimsical and romantic theme with pink, blush, creams and soft white as their colours. For their wedding details, the colours were really in the bride and bridesmaid’s bouquets. A pair of Jimmy Choo’s is every girl’s dream wedding shoes and Manley’s were the pink sparkly ones! You can definitely see more of romantic and fairytale blend in the reception decorations and hall. The centrepieces were tall gold vase with floral arrangement on top surrounded with tall candles and a gold vintage mirror table number - that reminds me of the Beauty and the Beast table setting but much more prettier! Paradise Banquet Hall is perfect venue to match Manley and Lorie’s wedding theme with the regal room and big chandelier! It was so dreamy to see their first dance underneath the beautiful oversized chandelier on the top and dry ice rising from the ground creating a cloud like effect and everything was just so romantic!

Most Disney Princesses stories take place at a tower or on top of a hill, for Manley & Lorie’s portraits we headed up a hill as well. We were β€œclose” to the sky and saw many trees below us. Manley wore a beautiful off-shoulder a-line gown with sheer embroidered lace bodice that gave her a modern princess vibe when we photograph them over the hills!

Although Manley and Lorie’s wedding was postponed, due to COVID restrictions, and smaller than what they’ve imagined it to be but their wedding day was beautiful nonetheless! They were surrounded with so much joy and love from families and friends! Thank you Manley and Lorie for having us to be a part of your special day and capturing all the beautiful moments you’ve shared with loved ones! Congratulations to the newly wed!

Vicky & Michael | Ruby Manor Maternity Session

Ruby Manor Maternity Session 4.jpg

Vicky & Michael’s photos were one of the dreamiest maternity session we’ve had. It was exactly how Vicky envisioned it to be. The London Room at the Ruby Manor studio was perfect for this dreamy maternity session. And this room couldn’t be more suitable for having a baby girl!

One of my favourite prop that they’ve brought to this session was Vicky’s first dress that she wore when she was a newborn. It’s pretty amazing that Vicky’s parents intentionally saved this 26+ years ago for their daughter’s daughter to wear one day. It’s absolute nostalgic and memorable and of course serves as the best prop for a photoshoot. Scroll down to see both Vicky and Michael holding this dress and can’t wait to see baby E wear it!

Michael is my younger brother and Vicky being my beloved sister-in-law are going to be parents! I am going to be an AUNT! It is so surreal!!! Growing up, I’ve never pictured ourselves at this stage in life. At times, we still feel like kids joking around and poking fun at each other. Never imagined that’ll be a Gu-Ma (Chinese for older aunt) hahaha makes me sound so old! Nonetheless, I am so happy for them and excited to meet my niece!

Venetia & Sam & Jayden & Baby | Scarborough Bluffs Family Session

Scarborough Bluffs Family Session 1.jpg

A summer evening well spent at the Scarborough Bluffs with this lovely family. It was a long time coming for our family session with them because COVID lockdowns and restrictions delayed us so so much! But we finally got to meet up with Venetia, Sam, Jayden and the newest addition family member!

As always, Scarborough Bluffs was crowded with many people who just wants to be out with friends, families and loved ones after so many months of lockdown. We picked a spot that was perfect for the stroller to park, the picnic blanket to be set out, and the family to be photographed. Can you tell at all that there were others at the beach with us? ;)

We were worried that Jayden would be tired and sleepy during our session, but he surprised us with all the energy in the world! He was so good and followed instructions very well. He jumped and ran a lot. We even got him to run and look back at the same time, he was good at multitasking! But I bet you his favourite was when he was on top of daddy’s shoulders - just look at all the laughs he had! Lol.

It was a lot of fun photographing these lovely smiles and their playful interactions as a family. Thank you Venetia, Sam, Jayden and baby for having us capture your family portraits and spending a beautiful evening with us!

Christine & Tyler & Mia | By the Waters Fun Family Session

Toronto Islands Family 21.jpg

We met Christine, Tyler and Mia for the very first time in-person at their family photo session with us and OH EM GEE, they’re like a superstar family! Both Christine and Tyler are so sweet and polite. Christine and I have already been chatting on Instagram prior to our shoot and she is a doll to talk to! She intentionally made a stop to pick a small Thank You gift for us on the way to the session. Tyler was giving parenting tips to Warden in between our photographing time hahaha! ( I wonder when we will get to use them!) Mia is the cutest, she would make friends to everyone that passes by our photoshoot location, whether dogs or people they couldn’t resist to stop and say β€œHi” to her! Mia’s smile melted our hearts right away.

We started off the session with Mia a little bit camera shy, but Warden and I acted so silly that she eventually warmed up to us. (Haha good thing only Christine and Tyler got to see it and no one else we really know saw us do that.) Later on, she was able to smile directly at the camera and even danced for us! When we said our good-bye’s at the our cars, Mia started to cry as she saw us walked away towards our car. Christine said she already misses us and she didn’t stop crying until 10 mins later on the road. Awwhhs, we’ve missed them already!

Thank you Christine, Tyler and Mia for having us document your family portraits and spending this lovely evening with us. We can’t wait to continue our friendship with you and capture more memories for your growing family!

Jenny & Aaron | Downtown Toronto Engagement Session

Downtown Toronto Engagement 13.jpg

It was an absolute joy to have photographed this engagement session with Jenny & Aaron down the busiest streets of downtown Toronto! We started off at one of our favourite spot in a European-vibe hallway with columns creating the perfect backdrop for our lovely couple. They had so much fun walking up and down laughing with each other. We moved over to the front of St Lawrence Market and waited for the perfect moment after pedestrians and cars have passed. Finally, we’ve arrived at one of Toronto’s most iconic building - the Gooderham Building. It was a very busy spot with lots of traffic so we quickly snapped a few photos and carried on. Our final destination was really tailored for Jenny & Aaron, especially a little foreshadow for their wedding - β€œAfter Work is Guinness Time”! If you know, you know! ;) Downtown Toronto is a beautiful city and is surrounded by all sorts of backdrops for photo ops. We love a sweet downtown engagement anytime.

Aaron made our job so easy because he was always so good at making Jenny laugh (the photos can speak for itself). They share one of the best chemistry as a couple. Jenny and Aaron first met back in 2011 at a camp where they both attended. In 2013, this beautiful long distance relationship kick started with text messages and phone calls. With Jenny in Cincinnati and Aaron living in Toronto, video calling brought them closer together and foster their relationship deeper. (Thank goodness for technologies!) After 5 years of long distance, our beloved Jenny has decided to move from one big city to another to be with the love of her life - TORONTO! Fast forward to late 2020, Aaron popped the question and here we are photographing for their engagement!

Thank you for spending an evening with us and have us photograph this lovely downtown Toronto engagement! Oohh, we already started talking about some of the details of the wedding for next year and we are so looking forward to it!
