Samantha & Kelvin | Richmond Hill Observatory Wedding

Samantha and Kelvin first met at their church’s youth fellowship back in 2009. They knew little of each other at that time and it wasn’t until 2014 when they got a chance to work on an event together for their fellowship that they started conversing more. Their dialogues continued via text messages while Kelvin was away for school in Waterloo and Samantha stayed in Toronto. And a beginning of this beautiful relationship started…

Love is in the air for them on Valentine’s Day where 2015 Kelvin gifted Samantha a handmade Eiffel Tower that she longed to visit one day! And on the same day in 2020, Kelvin got down on one knee and asked the most important question of his life to his now wife! The rest was just history!

Like many other couples getting married during a pandemic, plans have changed, and it wasn’t easy for them as Kelvin’s parents were abroad and was unable to attend. By careful considerations and lots of prayers, the two decided to postpone their reception celebration until a safer time (hopefully next year). With them being the sweetest couple, a lot of people attended the ceremony on live and in-person (limited capacity, of course) to show support for their union! They even prepared sweets and favours for their guests to take away at the end of the ceremony.

We still had a very eventful day even without the reception and it was a lot of fun! Kelvin and the boys came over for some Door Games and challenges that the bridesmaids came up with was so creative and fun! Samantha in her hide-out room couldn’t resist but laugh out loud while watching the groom and groomsmen being challenged!

When we photographed their engagement session, it was cold, windy, and even snowed early in the day - in May! Their love can really withstand the toughest weather no matter rain or shine! During portraits session, the rain came down after 15 minutes of arrival time. Fortunately, we still got some good portraits of the bridal party and bride and groom! And they were not soaked or wet thanks to the little cover that the observatory has as a hide-out spot! It was still fun as we would wait out for the rain and head back into our hiding spot when it rained more. Love can really conquer all things, even the toughest weather!

Thank you Samantha and Kelvin for having us be a part of and documenting your special day! Congratulations once again!
