Markham Wedding

Anna & Jesse | Toronto Sheraton Hotel Wedding

This charming couple brought their love and competitiveness from the field to the wedding! We took Anna and Jesse’s engagement photos last year and their sweet gazes towards each other has grown even more lovingly. The athletic duo, born and raised on either side of Canada, came to know each other through playing on the same softball team. Starting out at teammates, then to friends, then to significant others, Anna and Jesse worked through the challenges of long distance and busy schedules only to show the commitment and desire to be together.

Anna and Jesse chose to have their ceremony in Chinese Gospel Church Scarborough. Bright colours filled the sanctuary with white and pink flowers along the aisle and stage. You could tell love was in the air! As soon as Anna came into Jesse’s view, a tear shed down his cheek but with a smile reaching from ear to ear. What a joyous occasion~

After the ceremony, we took the bridal party to Alexander Muir Memorial Gardens for many more pictures. The beautiful greenery and structures illuminated the beauty of the bride and her bridesmaids and the handsomeness of the groomsmen. With a big bridal party such as this, they all looked stunning as if they came from a gala!

Moving to the reception, we headed to Sheraton Parkway Toronto North Hotel & Suites, welcomed by a large hall decorated in white and pink roses and petals with two head tables, a BIG dance floor, and a shining chandelier. One of my favourites was the cakes, draped in rose petals elegantly spiraling down to the table! The bridal party danced their way in as soon as they were called. Anna and Jesse of course got all the cheers and applause when they walked in. Soon after, they danced to their first dance as husband and wife.

Seeing these two together brought warmth and cheerfulness to our hearts. We are so honored and thankful to capture these moments for you! We wish you all the best as you walk in this new chapter in your life. Congratulations!

Rebekah & Steven | Angus Glen Golf Club Wedding

It has already been less than a year ago since we met Rebekah and Steven for their engagement photoshoot; we couldn’t believe that their wedding day was already here! Their sweet budding love story has now bloomed and their wedding displayed just a fraction of their commitment to each other!

Their story began as students, diligently working hard towards their career aspirations: Steven, a data scientist, and Rebekah, a lawyer-in-training. These two smart individuals studied together along with their friends from a student Christian group and bonded over the unlikeliest of subjects - math homework! Despite a casual friendship with each other, Steven started to have feelings for Rebekah and took a chance to stay in Toronto after graduation. Conversation after conversation, their friendship took the next step into courtship! A couple years later, Steven brought Rebekah to Toronto Island and proposed to his best friend who he wanted to share the rest of his life with!

This couple planned their wedding ceremony to be at Chinese Gospel Church Scarborough. As we walked through the sanctuary doors of the church, the stage was refreshingly decorated with natural greenery from the bride’s own home! Despite not being a gardener herself, Rebekah’s family provided all the real plants and logs grown from their backyard. It felt as if we were invited to Steven and Rebekah’s secret spot in the forest!

Keeping the theme of greenery, we went up to Angus Glen Golf Club in Markham, Ontario. The vast land and golden sunset brought a warm and romantic start to the reception! Each table had potted plants as their centerpiece, herbs from the garden! The bride’s mother and grandmother grew them with care specifically for Rebekah as one of the many ways they showed support for her. Both Rebekah and Steven shared how encouraged and grateful they were to have many of their friends and family members help with the wedding. We were just as inspired to see such a family come together just for them! What a community to be a part of.

We are so thankful that these two lovebirds shared and celebrated this time with us! We can’t wait to see what the future holds for you both. Congrats on becoming Mr and Mrs!

Jenny & Tim | Joyful Shangri-La Banquet Wedding

Jenny and Tim’s love story was a very special one - to me, it almost seemed like God orchestrated it all brought the two together at the perfect timing just before their wedding day! They both attended the same high school and church for quite some time before they officially met at the end of 2018. It was at their church event where Tim was a part of a group entered into contest to fundraise for a food bank. He asked for Jenny’s vote towards his group submission and from there the two started chatting online. A few months into 2019, they became official girlfriend and boyfriend! They just got married in September 2021 - doesn’t seem like they dated that long but when you talk to them it sounded like they’ve known each other since they were kids! Love stories like these gives me all the butterflies to see two coming together as one in the most perfect way.

With such a unique story of how these two could have met so much sooner at both their high school and church before 2018, for their wedding portraits we walked down the memory lane with them. Yes, we went to their high school - can you spot it on here? ;)

The day was all smiles for our sweet Jenny. It’s no wonder that Joy from Inside Out reminded Tim of Jenny. He even gifted her Joy the plush toy and card for their wedding gift! It was so funny to see Jenny laugh inside the gift bag before any one of us knew what she was giggling about. Their chemistry is such a playful, sweet and supportive one! They even bring so much joy to those around them. During the reception, they did a little something different for your traditional first dance - the bride dipped the groom instead! Tim is about a head and half taller than Jenny and for her to dip him at the end of their first dance got the crowds cheering!

Oh, what a happy day! It was so much fun to capture the festivities that took place on this blessed day! Thank you Jenny & Tim for having us be a part of your big day and congratulations once again!

Samantha & Kelvin | Richmond Hill Observatory Wedding

Samantha and Kelvin first met at their church’s youth fellowship back in 2009. They knew little of each other at that time and it wasn’t until 2014 when they got a chance to work on an event together for their fellowship that they started conversing more. Their dialogues continued via text messages while Kelvin was away for school in Waterloo and Samantha stayed in Toronto. And a beginning of this beautiful relationship started…

Love is in the air for them on Valentine’s Day where 2015 Kelvin gifted Samantha a handmade Eiffel Tower that she longed to visit one day! And on the same day in 2020, Kelvin got down on one knee and asked the most important question of his life to his now wife! The rest was just history!

Like many other couples getting married during a pandemic, plans have changed, and it wasn’t easy for them as Kelvin’s parents were abroad and was unable to attend. By careful considerations and lots of prayers, the two decided to postpone their reception celebration until a safer time (hopefully next year). With them being the sweetest couple, a lot of people attended the ceremony on live and in-person (limited capacity, of course) to show support for their union! They even prepared sweets and favours for their guests to take away at the end of the ceremony.

We still had a very eventful day even without the reception and it was a lot of fun! Kelvin and the boys came over for some Door Games and challenges that the bridesmaids came up with was so creative and fun! Samantha in her hide-out room couldn’t resist but laugh out loud while watching the groom and groomsmen being challenged!

When we photographed their engagement session, it was cold, windy, and even snowed early in the day - in May! Their love can really withstand the toughest weather no matter rain or shine! During portraits session, the rain came down after 15 minutes of arrival time. Fortunately, we still got some good portraits of the bridal party and bride and groom! And they were not soaked or wet thanks to the little cover that the observatory has as a hide-out spot! It was still fun as we would wait out for the rain and head back into our hiding spot when it rained more. Love can really conquer all things, even the toughest weather!

Thank you Samantha and Kelvin for having us be a part of and documenting your special day! Congratulations once again!
